When sharing your car through Getaround, you may occasionally need to request compensation after a rental has ended. To simplify this process, we've compiled an overview of the various fees and types of compensation you can claim.

If the Driver returns the car with less fuel than at check-in, you can request compensation for the missing fuel. You have up to 2 business days after the rental ends to submit this request.
If the Driver returns the car with less battery charge than at check-in, you are entitled to compensation for the missing charge. You have up to 2 business days after the rental ends to request this.
Guide to EV recharging adjustments
If the Driver drives the car for more kilometers than originally included in the rental, you are entitled to compensation for the extra mileage. You have up to 2 business days after the rental ends to request this.
If the Driver returns the car significantly dirtier than it was at check-in, you can request compensation for cleaning costs. This must be submitted within 2 business days after the rental ends.
Guide to cleanliness rules and fees
If the Driver returns the car far from its original address or parks it in an incorrect location (e.g., private parking), you can request compensation for retrieval costs. This must be requested within 2 business days after the rental ends.
If the Driver returns the car later than the scheduled end time of the rental, you are entitled to compensation for both the extended rental period and any applicable late fees. This request must be made within 2 business days after the rental ends.
If you receive a fine or infraction that occurred during the rental—or was issued after the rental due to illegal parking by the Driver—you can request reimbursement. You have up to 1 year after the rental ends to submit this request.
For any toll fees incurred during the rental and charged to you afterward, you can request reimbursement within 60 days after the rental ends.
If you receive an invoice for parking that occurred during the Driver’s rental, you can request reimbursement for this cost within 60 days after the rental ends.
If you receive an invoice for EV charging during the Driver’s rental, you can request reimbursement for this cost within 30 days after the rental ends.
